American Museum of Natural History

The American Museum of Natural History is located at 200 Central Park West, New York, NY. The museum was established in 1869. It is one of the largest and most renowned natural history museums in the world. The museum’s collection includes over 34 million specimens ranging from fossils and minerals to cultural artifacts and biological specimens. Notable exhibits include the dinosaur halls featuring a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, the Hall of Biodiversity and the Rose Center for Earth and Space, which includes the Hayden Planetarium. The museum also hosts significant temporary exhibitions such as “The Butterfly Conservatory” and “The Nature of Color.” Additionally, the American Museum of Natural History offers a variety of educational programs including sleepovers, science classes and public lectures, making it a key institution for science education and public engagement.
