Portland Museum of Art

The Portland Museum of Art (PMA), founded in 1882, is located in Portland, Maine. It was established by the Maine Art Association and has grown to become the state’s largest and oldest public art institution. The museum’s collection includes works by notable artists such as Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth and Claude Monet. PMA is known for its American, European and contemporary art, as well as its significant holdings of decorative arts and historic New England architecture.
